Positioned within the elevated landscapes of Bukidnon, Davao City, the Buda House is a residential design proposal shaped by international architectural principles that emphasize clarity, openness, and environmental connection. The design takes advantage of its high-altitude setting through expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing on the second floor, allowing uninterrupted views of the surrounding terrain while maximizing natural daylight within the living spaces.

The structure is composed of steel members integrated with reinforced floor and ceiling slabs, creating a balanced expression of durability and refinement. A projecting ceiling slab extends outward to form a transitional threshold between the exterior viewing deck and the interior circulation spaces, linking the master bedroom and hallway through a seamless architectural gesture.

Material expression plays a central role in defining the project’s character. Painted white concrete surfaces establish a clean and timeless backdrop, contrasted by matte black steel elements that introduce depth and visual precision. Accents of natural stone further ground the composition, reinforcing a dialogue between contemporary architecture and the surrounding landscape.

Developed under a schematic design service, the project focused on translating spatial intent into clear visual communication. Initial massing and conceptual studies were modeled using SketchUp, forming the basis for early presentations and spatial exploration. Final visualization was executed through 3DS Max with the V-Ray render engine, producing photorealistic imagery that captures the atmosphere, materiality, and experiential qualities of the proposed residence.
