Interior Architecture Study
Client: Daniel Mercer
Project Type: Condominium Interior Renovation
Location: King West, Toronto, Ontario
Date: March 18, 2025
Time: 3:45 PM, Late Winter Afternoon
Commissioned as a private renovation in Toronto’s King West district, the residence was designed for Daniel Mercer, a technology consultant seeking a refined urban retreat. The project balances professional functionality with residential warmth, creating a calm interior within a dense city context.
Material continuity defines the space. Wood veneer paneling, textured stone, and restrained neutral tones soften the condominium’s compact footprint. Concealed LED lighting and recessed fixtures emphasize horizontal planes, adding depth while maintaining visual simplicity.
The bedroom suite prioritizes intimacy through low profile furnishings and integrated wall paneling, while the open living area supports flexibility between rest and work. Timber battens contrast with concrete finishes, referencing the neighborhood’s loft heritage. The kitchen completes the composition with minimalist cabinetry, integrated storage, and subtle lighting that highlights material transitions.
